Vijay Bhardwaj Peace Education Scholarship

To be awarded annually to a full-time student with superior academic achievement registered in the Secondary Route of the Bachelor of Education degree program with a major or minor in Social Studies or a minor in Religious and Moral Education. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing and community involvement demonstrating a commitment to peace.

Donor: Endowed funds by Mrs Jagjeet Bhardwaj and the family and friends of Mr Vijay Bhardwaj through the Mahatma Gandhi Canadian Foundation for World Peace Mr Bhardwaj, the first Chair of the Foundation, held an LLB and an LLM from Benares Hindu University in India and an LLM from the University of California (Berkeley) He held a position with the Institute of Law Research and Reform at the Faculty of Law, University of Alberta before becoming the Legal Counsel with the Office of the Chief Judge of Alberta
