Harbhajan Rai Memorial Scholarship in Science

Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement enrolled in the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Science. Selection based on academic standing. Preference given to a student with indicated financial need and to a student who is employed.

Donor: Annual funds by Laddi, Sonu and Harman Rai, in honour of Harbhajan Rai who arrived in Edmonton, a city he came to love, from India in the 1970s A devoted family man who recognized the importance of education, he was intrigued by science; he spent his life working difficult blue-collar jobs to ensure that his three children could attend university Throughout his life, he maintained the belief that equal access for all was a necessity of a superior educational system In honour of his memory and beliefs, his children would like to offer support to the next generation
